UPDATE

  Hello again! :)
My first/latest blog post was quite a while ago and everybody's probably thinking I've forgotten about my blog already but I promise you I haven't.

I've had a mega busy few weeks, but a good kind of busy... The kind where you're with friends and family and being social. I've being doing things every single day which is really rare for me as I normally sit around the house bored and fed up so please forgive the fact that I haven't made any posts for a while.

I was planning on doing a blog post today but ended up having another busy day and I also have a busy day tomorrow as I'm going out for the day and then have a friend sleeping over, BUT I'm going to start writing tonight and then I'll add to it tomorrow whilst I have a few spare minutes so should be able to publish either tomorrow or the day after, and then as it's now the summer holidays I'm going to be uploading very frequently. :)

Sorry for the rubbish update post, just wanted to let everyone know what is happening.

Also feel free to follow my blog, Instagram and Twitter.

My Top 5 e.l.f Products With Swatches

Hello anybody out there reading this :)
I've finally decided to venture out into the world of blogging... How exciting!
For my first EVER post I thought I'd share with you my top 5 favorite e.l.f products. :)

Any person who spends time on the internet looking at beauty blogs or YouTube videos has probably come across Eyes.Lips.Face Cosmetics before which most commonly goes by e.l.f.
It's one of the most affordable, well known makeup brands out there and a lot of their products are surprisingly good for the price.
The prices have gone up a touch from when they first became popular many years ago, however they're still very affordable for those on a tight budget or those who just one a cheaper alternative than high end or drugstore makeup.
At such a cheap price it's also good to hear that their products are cruelty free which may come as a shock to those who think all cheap products are tested on animals.

I've brought from E.L.F quite a few times over the past couple of years and I've always being happy with their service and how quick they deliver, their customer service is also amazing for those who experience any faults with their order.

As far as I'm aware, in the UK they don't sell their products in any stores except from the occasional quiet little market or shop. The website for UK readers is http://eyeslipsface.co.uk/

Product prices start at £1.50 for the normal range and are higher priced for the studio and mineral range.

Sooo after all of that lets get to my top 5 favorites! :)

1. Elf Lip Stains - £3.75

These are AMAZING! They're just as good as any other lip stain out there that I've ever tried yet they're at a bargain price. As you can tell by the photo they're double sided and have the stain on one side and clear gloss on the other, though I tend not to use the gloss as I prefer them looking matte.
They're quite a thin consistency and look quite liquidy and watery when you put them on but not watery enough to run anywhere (No one wants to be walking around with the Halloween vampire look in the middle of the year...) but once they dry they transform to a highly pigmented, matte colour. The stains are also buildable which I think is one of the best selling points (aside from the amazing staying power) as not everybody wants a natural look and not everybody wants a dramatic, bold effect so being able to have it as light or heavy as you want is a real advantage.
I currently have three colours;
  • Birthday suit - This is a baby pink colour which is a lot more sheer than the others but once it's dried it appears a lot more pigmented than you'd think. I tend to wear either a really thin layer of this just to add a hint of pale pink to my lips, or I'll wear two layers to achieve a really cool pink look.
  •  Mysterious - This is rosy nude colour. Against paler skins (like mine) it looks a lot more rosier and darker, whereas against a dark skin it would look more nude.
  • Red Carpet - This is a really pretty red, it's highly pigmented and dries really matte and gives an amazing finish. It's very bright and bold but I'd recommend it to anyone who is daring with wearing strong lip colours.

2.  E.LF Eyelid Primer - £1.50

The e.l.f Eyelid Primer is an absolute bargain! For £1.50 you can't really go wrong, it's a product that I will happily repurchase over and over again.
It does it's job and helps eye-shadows stay on a lot longer than they normally would and also helps show off the eye-shadow's true pigmentation.

3. Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky - £3.75

(Please excuse the state of my blush... It's a pressed blusher but mine is smashed into smithereens).

This is the latest thing that I've bought from e.l.f and wow! I honestly never expected it to be this nice.
It's a pinky/coral/bronze colour which is very shimmery and would look nice on any skin tone!
I've bought blushers from e.l.f before a long time ago and they were awful. Impossible to blend and just an awful colour and texture... BUT they must of really upped their game as this blush is my favorite out of every single blusher I've ever bought... even the more high end ones.
It blends perfectly and stays on just as long as the rest of your face makeup. :)

4. E.l.f Studio Blush in Pink Passion and Giddy Gold - £3.75 each.

Pink Passion - As you can see from the swatches this is a bright neon pink colour! However the best thing about both of these blushes is that they're buildable, so although it looks like a colour you'd never dream of wearing (except for Halloween or stage makeup) if you apply is sparingly it actually gives a gorgeous pink tint to the cheeks.
Giddy Gold- This is a really sheer colour compared to the pink, but it's a really pretty especially if you have a tan. It's really quite glittery so I like to apply this over the top of a matte bronzer just to give my face more of a glow.  Both blushers are quite chalky textured but if applied properly this doesn't make a difference to the staying power or what they look like on the face.

5. Hypershine Lip Gloss - £1.50

I must admit I haven't worn these in a while, just because I've being more into matte lips for the past couple of months. But these are gorgeous! I used to where them every single day at one point and would often get compliments asking what I was wearing on my lips.
The textures can vary slightly as some are thicker than others but for how cheap they are you can't really complain. (In the picture flirt looks quite thick as I layered it on top of a nude lipstick to show the true colour).
Flirt is a pretty pink which adds a nice colour to the lips, whereas bare is a nude colour which looks great over a nude lipstick or just a bit of foundation to make the lips slightly paler if you have naturally bright rosy lips like me.

Thank you for reading my first ever blog post which must be full of mistakes as I haven't quite got to grips with blogging yet but hopefully will get the hang of it soon (Lets hope) :) <3
